THRIvE Research Team: THriving and Resilience among youth with marginalized Identities and Expressions
We study the processes by which youth with marginalized identities thrive and are resilient despite the barriers and challenges they encounter in society (for example, discrimination). Our populations of interest include youth who identify or express non-privileged sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and ethnicities, and the intersections among these identities. Our current projects focus on ways that identity formation, school and family resources, and coping mechanisms contribute to health, well-being, and educational outcomes.
