Noel Card, Ph.D., Chair of the Adolescent Health and Development Research Initiative, will be hosting a reception honoring Stephen T. Russell, Fitch Nesbitt Endowed Chair and Director of the Frances McClelland Institute, as newly elected President-Elect of the Society for Research on Adolescence.
The reception will highlight the history of adolescence research at the University of Arizona, as well as recent and planned activities of the Adolescent Health and Development Initiative of the Frances McClelland Institute for Children, Youth, and Families. There will also be opportunities to meet other adolescence researchers from across campus and local community partners from Tucson. Light refreshments will be served -- RSVP is not required.
"I'm personally interested in the links between research, policy and programs for young people, and I am impatient with the slow pace and occasional disconnect between research and relevant policies and programs. So, I'd also like to use the next four years, as president-elect and president, to emphasize the pressing needs of contemporary young people."
